In memory of Philip, we established a foundation called A Little Light Foundation. Philip spent many weeks at a time in the hospital throughout his journey. He found a sense of peace from a little lamp that traveled with him from room to room. Its warm glow allowed him to turn off the harsh hospital lights and make his room feel a little more like home. It seems like such a little thing, but its impact was great. It is our goal to spread Philip’s light to as many long term cancer patients as possible.
Philip has led us to find many additional ways to bring comfort to patients. Please take a look below to learn more. Philip's spirit is shining on in so many beautiful ways!
Philip taught us that life should not be measured in years, but in moments. He cherished every moment he was blessed with and faced every challenge with immeasurable bravery and positivity.
Philip is the first of 3 brothers. He was a role model from the start looking out for his brothers and teaching them everything. Philip was a talented runner from a young age and the biggest NJ Devils fan ever. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a Finance and Marketing degree and landed his dream job at SV Health Investors. He was a creative soul who appreciated the simple things in life. He loved to play his guitar. He also loved the beach and sunny days. He didn't like NJ winters so he moved to Austin, Texas. There, he loved to walk under the night sky full of stars. He shared that he truly believes his family was written in the stars.
Even during intensive treatments, Philip thought of others before himself. He came up the the idea of A Little Light Foundation and he and his mom created the logo together. He knew his dad would come up with a way to make it happen. Philip hoped to be delivering these gifts himself so his brothers Bayley and Tyler along with his dad and I will deliver them for him. Every gift delivered will keep Philip's spirit shining bright.

Philip loved walking under the starry night sky in Austin. We hope these projection lights will bring the same peace to children while in the hospital. Every star represents a wish for healing!
We are also fulfilling special wish list requests to bring patients comfort such as sound machines, i-pad stands, soft bedding, legos and more! These were many of the things that brought Philip comfort as well.
Philip's guitar also traveled with him from room to room during his treatments. It allowed for a creative escape. He especially loved music therapy with Alessandro. Music therapy has been proven to be beneficial for physical, mental, and emotional health. Some research shows that music therapy can even help reduce anxiety and stress.
We are so excited to announce that we are working with Alessandro and the MSK Music therapy team to provide personal music therapy sessions for patients even during their time at home! A Little Light is providing funds to facilitate these sessions.
We are also so excited to be working with a wonderful music therapist, Megan, at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center to build upon her program and provide personal instruments for patients. Please help us keep the music playing and donate today!
A Little Light Foundation and Musicologie have partnered to provide Music Scholarships for cancer and long term patients. Provided through a hospital or care facility, music lessons can be an important part of healing therapy. All instruments and lessons are no charge to patients or their families and Musicologies can accommodate any age, skill level or instrument.
A Little Light has provided gaming systems and games to the MSK Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) program. Video games can help patients and their loved ones feel a sense of community with others facing similar challenges. This shared experience can help patients feel more normal during a time when their lives may feel out of control.
You helped us fulfill Philip's wish! We are grateful to each and every one of you.
We will continue fundraising and spreading Philip's Light in 2024. Please keep us in your hearts and continue your support.
